MasterCard Intra-EEA Interchange Fees

Interchange is a fee paid by the merchant bank (acquirer) to the cardholder’s bank (issuing bank) in relation to a payment transaction to compensate the issuing bank for a portion of the risks and costs it incurs to maintain cardholder accounts.
